I first met Lauren when she came to intern with Lucy Ewing and I, for the Sunday Times Style, just after she’d finished her undergraduate degree. Luckily for me, she’s a northerner, and seemed just as bewildered with the south as I was. Let’s just say she was a breath of fresh air that was so needed at that time, thank God she arrived. I still feel the same way when we briefly manage to message each other amidst motherhood.
