About
It is my intention that The How Lovely is a place of goodness, comfort and nourishment for the soul. The How Lovely advocates and supports mothers who are negotiating and building their businesses whilst visibly raising their children at their sides, and I am a mother doing exactly that.
The How Lovely began as a weekly newsletter on Substack. I decided that if I committed to writing (at least) five ‘things’ the brought me joy, grace or had simply moved me each week and, if against my usual hermit nature , I put it somewhere where others could read it, then I would have to spend a lot of time focussing on the good stuff. Really it was a practice of gratitude and I continue to write those letters each week. Mostly I write about raising my daughter and my experience as a mother, I also began to write an extra article each week (on average), which was a deeper dive into an area that I felt needed more thinking, if I felt it served. I found that it was the full spectrum of life where the wonder resided, not just on the obvious ‘positive’ things.
The guest letters and photo essays are all created and written by mothers, and to align to the values of The How Lovely, the recommendations section are mostly products from mother- led businesses that I trust, use and genuinely love.
